Whatever you’ve got your sights set on, that’s only the beginning.
Kindergarten 4 & Kindergarten 5 attend two trips for the year; in the fall and spring. We are open to add more trips if the curriculum permits. The first trip is usually to a farm or an orchid for apple picking. The second trip is usually to a museum or another enriching event that may present itself.
Pre-K and Kindergarten lunch is included with tuition.
All meals will be provided by RedRabbit.
Each child will receive a lunch and a morning snack. RedRabbit will accommodate any child who has a dietary restriction.
Our Kindergarten 4 & Kindergarten 5 daily schedule has been formatted to be optimal for all students. Besides the obvious teacher lead activities there are plenty of opportunities for students to lead and learn from each other. The major focus of the year will be phonics. Phonics is the major tool we use to get all our students to read. We also focus a great deal on number recognition, addition, subtraction, grouping and simple algebraic expressions. This has enabled us to have students who are reading and doing basic math before entering first grade.
Regent School considers itself an extension of each student’s home. We have mastered the art of elementary school education while realizing that we are living in a rapidly changing world. We have adapted our curriculum and and standards to reflect today’s students while still maintaining our old-school values.
The key component to the success of our Kindergarten 4 & Kindergarten 5 program is our approach to phonics. Phonics is essential to the success of our reading program.
Computation is done at first with manipulatives early in the year. We then move to more abstract learning during the second half of the year.
Children need to feel safe and secure for their academic life to be successful. This will lead to expanding their knowledge base for an improved educational experience.
